Giving Thanks

thank [thangk] noun
a grateful feeling or acknowledgment of a benefit,
favor, or the like, expressed by words or otherwise

Today is the day our society deems it a good idea to express by words, or otherwise, our grateful feelings. So, that's just what I'm going to do.

First and foremost, FAMILY:
Every few weeks, as our home is filled with the giggles of our adorable daughter, I turn to Ad and say, "This is what it's all about. It doesn't get much better than this." And it's true. Our house may be a mess and Adalyn may be running around in just a diaper, but we're all together, we're all healthy, and we're SO happy. It REALLY doesn't get much better than that. It's easy to get caught up in the hustle of paying bills, buying groceries, running here and there, but the most precious thing in the world is time together. Every moment I spend with the people I love is a treasure. Which brings me to the next item on my list -

Our PARENTS:
I am SO thankful that a) we both still have both our parents and b) that we live so close to them! We are so fortunate to have the ability to see our parents every day. It is SO important to me that Adalyn gets to spend lots of time with her Grandparents. She absolutely adores them, as they do her. I am so thankful for the values and life lessons we were taught (and continue to learn) from them and for the love and support they've ALWAYS shown. We still ask our parents for advice and help, and they still always give it, just like they did when we were young. We're SO lucky.

Our FRIENDS

Our HEALTH

Our JOBS

Our little COMMUNITY

And now to the things on a smaller scale:
New recipes
Hot coffee
Good books
Loyal pets
A nice, comfortable home
A good heater
Reliable cars
Internet access
The prospect of a really GREAT meal this afternoon!

And of course the list goes on, and on.

Today, take a moment to acknowledge your grateful feelings. You'll realize just how lucky you are.

Happy Thanksgiving!
