Our first Doctor's appointment was yesterday. We saw Dr. Brea McQuillan in Boise near St. Luke's Hospital. We were VERY pleased with the Dr., her nurse, and all the staff at the clinic. While it will be a bit of an inconvenience to drive to Boise every month, we feel the facility, the staff, and the entire experience will make it well worth it.
We didn't learn too much new information yet. They did a thorough history, blood & urine samples, and physical exam. They explained several tests that would be available to screen for abnormalities such as down syndrome and discussed the risks and benefits of each.
One thing I did learn is that it's identical, not fraternal twins that run in families. For some reason I had it mixed up. So, with my Mom, Adam's Aunt, and Adam's Grandpa all being identical twins, our chances are higher than average to have twins. (Adam was quite pleased to hear this.) We will have an ultrasound in 2 weeks to determine an exact due date and to see if there could possibly be more than one bun in the oven.
So, that's the complete update for now. More later.
Happy New Year!
