He was delivered via a scheduled caesarean. I had been hoping to try for a VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean) but the schedule-oriented planner in me scheduled the c-section just in case our little Moose didn’t decide to arrive sooner. It turns out it was a good thing I did, because this little stinker was in frank breech (butt down, head up) position just like Adalyn was!
Our experience at St. Luke’s Boise was just as positive as when Adalyn was born. We couldn’t have asked for a better hospital stay! The staff was kind and helpful and the place ran like a well-oiled machine. We were given the “second time parent” treatment and were basically left alone unless we needed something. It was very nice. We stayed just two nights and were home by 3:30 pm Friday afternoon.
Our little guy has adjusted to life in our family quite well. He is an excellent eater and a good sleeper. He is happy and content most of the time. The only time he fusses is when he’s hungry and if he’s not fed quickly enough, he sure lets us know!
His big sister seems to be adjusting well too! She loves having a little brother. She gives him kisses frequently and often asks to hold him. She is very gentle and motherly, and hasn’t shown any jealousy yet.
Mom and Dad are doing great too! We have quickly adjusted to life with two little ones and are surprised at how smoothly it has gone so far. It is certainly easier than the first time around! Fortunately, my recovery from the c-section has been a breeze, and I’m feeling great! (SO glad to not be pregnant any more!)
The endless support of family and friends has been just as strong as when Adalyn was born and we feel so lucky to be surrounded by such fantastic people. All in all, life at the Tolman house is fantastic! We are so excited to be a family of four and couldn’t ask for anything more.
Great photos! Looks like everything went pretty smoothly. Congrats on your new addition :) Your family looks perfect!
